Squamish could see about 50 mm of rain from tonight through Sunday. Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Howe Sound and Metro Vancouver as another strong low pressure system reaches the South Coast. Water may pool on roads, and washouts and landslides are possible in some areas.

What is coming

Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning on November 7, 2026 for Howe Sound, which includes Squamish. The same warning covers Metro Vancouver, including the North Shore, West Vancouver and North Vancouver.

  • When: tonight through Sunday
  • How much: about 50 mm of rain
  • Why: another strong low pressure system is heading toward the South Coast. The rain will continue until the system moves farther east.

Where to watch out

Environment Canada says heavy rain like this can cause problems in a few kinds of places:

  • Roads and low spots: water will likely pool on roads and in low areas.
  • Steep ground: landslides may happen on steep slopes, in areas where trees have been cleared, and on land burned by recent fires.
  • Near water: watch for washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
