Council meeting

Tuesday, November 17, 2026

6 p.m. · Council Chambers, Municipal Hall, 37955 Second Avenue

What’s on the agenda

The main meeting where council makes official decisions and votes.

The District usually posts the agenda a few days before the meeting. We’ll list the main items here in plain words as soon as it’s out.

Have your say

Write to council. One email reaches the mayor and all six councillors. Send it by November 12, 2026 to be in the meeting package. Include your name: anonymous letters aren’t passed on, and your name is published with your letter. [District of Squamish]

✉️ Email council about this

Speak at the meeting. No need to sign up. Near the end of each regular meeting, anyone can ask a question for up to two minutes about what was on the agenda. [District of Squamish]

More ways and the fine print

Something urgent? The Chair calls for speakers. You get up to two minutes to say what your topic is and why it is urgent. Council then votes on whether to hear you. If they agree, you get up to five minutes. No more than 15 minutes or three speakers in total, unless council agrees to more.

How to join. In person in Council Chambers at Municipal Hall, 37955 Second Avenue (room holds 29 people including council and staff), online through Webex (use Raise Hand), or by phone at 1-604-449-3026 (press *3 to raise your hand). The YouTube live stream is for watching only.

Book a presentation. You can book a slot to speak to council for up to 5 minutes (the formal name is a delegation). Send a written request to the Corporate Officer two weeks before the meeting you want. Include the names of everyone who will speak, your topic, and whether you will attend in person or online. The Mayor decides whether to approve it. Application form (PDF). Legislative Services, 604-815-5005.

By mail: Mayor and Council, District of Squamish, PO Box 310, Squamish, BC V8B 0A3. Phone: 604-892-5217 (Municipal Hall).

Unless it is about day to day operations (like a service request or a bylaw complaint), a letter sent to council@squamish.ca or to four or more council members goes on an upcoming council agenda. Operational letters go to staff for a reply, and council gets a copy. [source]

Watch. Live and afterward on the District’s YouTube channel.
